Once the legendary top bounty hunter Valen sealed his power after his wife Mara’s murder. He sank into alcohol, becoming a scorned drunkard. The king appointed him shadow magic tutor for Princess Elara. Through clashes and battles together, they grew to trust each other.Hunting for the truth of Mara’s death, Valen uncovered Hermann’s plot: he ordered Dorian to kill Mara, trafficked forbidden potions and unleashed beast hordes. At the royal banquet, beasts attacked the capital while Hermann launched a coup, nearly killing the king. Valen reclaimed his alias Umbra. He saved the king, exposed the conspiracy, avenged Mara, and found anew his purpose to fight for others.
